You can use the command-line interface (CLI) to change
the configuration of an existing storage system. You must change the configuration for a storage system when you want to delete and replace logical units (LUs).
To delete existing LUs and replace them with new LUs:
- Issue the following CLI command to delete the managed disks
(MDisks) that are associated with the LUs from their storage pools:
rmmdisk -mdisk MDisk_name1:MDisk_name2 -force storage pool name
Where MDisk_name1:MDisk_name2 are the names of
the MDisks to delete. If you do specify the -force parameter, an attempt is made to migrate the extents that are in
use onto other free extents within the storage pool. If there are
not enough free extents in the storage pool, the command will fail
even if the -force parameter is specified.
- Delete the existing LUs using the configuration software
of the storage system.
- Issue the following command to delete the associated
MDisks from the clustered system:
- Configure the new LUs using the configuration software
of the storage system.
- Issue the following command to add the new LUs to the
system:
