Resolving a problem with MicrosoftWindows disk manager

MicrosoftWindows disk manager might hang if the host attempts to write to a LUN that is a remote copy secondary volume on a system. This procedure addresses this issue.

If the disk manager hangs and you think it might be because of a write to a remote copy secondary volume, then you can configure the system to hide remote copy secondary volumes from that host.

You can specify the host type of hide_secondary to make all remote copy relationship secondary volumes unavailable to that host.

Use the management GUI to set the host type to hide_secondary, or use the command line interface to run either of the following commands.

chhost-typehide_secondaryhostname/id

ormkhost-namemy_host-fcwwpnWWPN1:WWPN2-typehide_secondary
