If a SAS connection is not valid, use this information
to verify the accuracy of the system cabling.
Verify that the SAS cabling is installed correctly by
checking that all SAS connections meet the following requirements.
- If a connection between the control enclosure and any host
in the system is not valid, check that the SAS cabling between the
control enclosures and the hosts conforms to the following SAS connectivity
rules.
Table 1 describes the SAS ports on
the system nodes.

- Lenovo Storage V3700
V2 XP systems have two on-board 12 GB SAS host ports at ports 2 and 3.
- Lenovo Storage V3700 V2, Lenovo Storage V5030, and Lenovo Storage V5030F systems support 12 Gbps SAS host attachment but require
installation of the optional SAS host interface adapter.
- The cables that are connected to the SAS host ports
on each node canister in a
control enclosure must attach to a redundant port pair on a host.
- A connected port on the node canister must connect to a single
port on a host. Cables that split the connector out into separate
physical connections are not supported.
- If a connection between the control enclosure
and an expansion enclosure is not valid, ensure that the SAS cabling
conforms to the connectivity described in the SAS cabling guidelines topic.
