Replacing the air baffle

Use this information to replace the air baffle.

Read the safety information in Safety and Installation guidelines.

If you are replacing a server component in the server, you need to turn off the server and peripheral devices, and disconnect the power cords and all external cables.

To replace the air baffle, complete the following steps.

  1. Remove the cover (see Removing the cover).
  2. Align the air baffle pins with the baffle pin holes on the server chassis and fan cage assembly; then, lower the air baffle into the server. Press the air baffle down until it is securely seated.

  4. Slide the server into the rack.

If you have replaced a server component or installed an optional device in the server, you need to reconnect the power cords and all external cables, and turn on the server and peripheral devices.

Attention
For proper cooling and airflow, replace the air baffle before turning on the server. Operating the server with an air baffle removed might damage server components.
