You must configure the Linux operating system before you can use z Systems hosts with the Lenovo Storage V7000 system.
Before you configure the host operating systems, the following
tasks must be completed:
- An Lenovo service
representative must have installed the Lenovo Storage V7000 system.
- You must have installed the appropriate host bus adapters.
After the prerequisite tasks are complete,
use the following general steps to configure your z Systems hosts that are running the Linux operating system:
- Zone the host system to the Lenovo Storage V7000 system
on the Fibre Channel SAN.

- Create the host system on the Lenovo Storage V7000 system
using the worldwide port names (WWPNs). Map the volumes to
the host, as required.
