Deleting a copy from a basic volume

For basic volumes that are used in standard topologies, use either the management GUI or the command-line interface to delete a copy to the volume.

The rmvdiskcopy command deletes the specified copy from the specified volume. The command fails if all other copies of the volume are not synchronized. In this case, you must specify the -force parameter to delete the volume or wait until the copies are synchronized. In addition, the -force parameter fails to delete the volumes with a single copy if volume protection is enabled on the system and the specified volume has received I/O within the defined protection interval. In this case, you must either wait until the volume protection interval expires or disable volume protection on the system.

Note: Using the -force parameter might result in loss of access to data. Use it only under the direction of a service representative.

Issue the rmvdiskcopy CLI command to delete a mirrored copy from a volume:

where 1 is the ID of the copy to delete and vdisk8 is the volume to delete the copy from.

The command does not return any output.
