CMMVC8481E: The storage pool cannot be deleted because at least one volume in the pool has received I/O within the defined volume protection period.

Explanation

The pool deletion command was not run because the system determined that I/O was received within the system defined protection period. This generally indicates that a volume from that pool is in use.

User Response

  1. Make sure that no volumes are in use in the pool. If the wrong pool was selected, repeat the command with the correct pool.
  2. Otherwise, if you are sure that you want to unmap this volume, wait the time that is specified in the vdisk_protection_time field (see Issystem), and retry the command.
  3. Alternatively, if you don't want to have volume protection warnings, then you can disable the vdisk_protection-enabled field by using chsystem.
