A Lenovo Storage V5030 system can cluster with another Lenovo Storage V5030 system or with a Lenovo Storage V series system. To add a second control enclosure to an existing Lenovo Storage V5030 system, you must first install it in the rack.
Then, you must connect it to the system through a zone in the SAN.
The
management GUI requires a supported web browser (see
Checking your web browser settings for the management GUI).
Note: You cannot cluster a second control enclosure
with a Lenovo Storage V3700 V2 or Lenovo
Storage V3700 V2 XP system.
To add a second control enclosure
to an existing Lenovo Storage V5030 system, complete the following steps.
- Install support rails for the new enclosure.
- Install the new enclosure in the rack.
- Connect the canisters to the storage area network.
- Configure the zoning on the SAN switches.
The correct zoning provides a way for the Fibre Channel or FCoE
ports to connect to each other.
- Run the following command to erase the enclosure vital
product data (vpd).
satask chvpd-resetclusterid
- Wait until both nodes are online again, and then start
the management GUI.
Typically, it takes a few minutes before both nodes are online
again.
- Go to .
- In
the management GUI, select . On the System
-- Overview page, select Add Enclosure. When a new enclosure is cabled correctly to the system, the
Add Enclosures action automatically displays
on the System -- Overview page. If this
action does not appear, review the installation instructions to
ensure the new enclosure is cabled correctly. You can also add a new
enclosure by selecting Add Enclosure from
the System Actions
menu.
- Continue to follow the on-screen instructions.
