You must configure the Solaris operating system before you can use Oracle hosts with the
system.
Before you configure the Solaris operating system, the following tasks must be completed:
- The system
must be installed.
- You must install the appropriate host bus adapters.
After
the prerequisite tasks are complete, use the following
general steps to configure your Solaris operating system.
- Zone the host to the system on the Fibre Channel SAN.
- Install the appropriate multipathing driver for your host to enable the management of multiple
paths to system volumes.
Note: The Subsystem Device Driver (SDD) does not support
the Solaris operating system in a clustered-system environment.
- Create the host on the system by using the worldwide port names (WWPNs). Map the volumes to the
host. Make sure that the host type is set to tpgs for
Solaris hosts.
- Create volumes and disks on your host by using instructions that are in your host
publications.
