There are several
considerations to be aware of when working
with an HP-UX host for iSCSI.
- The HP-UX iSCSI initiator skips any IPv6 addresses and continues connections with the IPv4
addresses received during the discovery process.
- The HP-UX iSCSI initiator tries to log in on all the target IP addresses that have been
found in the discovery phase. In this situation, the
system iSCSI login
toggles.
- For HP-UX Fibre Channel host attachments, use the hpuxhost type when creating the host object. However, for iSCSI HP-UX host attachment, use
the default host type when creating the host object.
- The HP-UX host does not discover the newly exported LUNs if the IBM device files have been removed by using the rmsf command and if the
deleted target IP has been re-added using the iscsiutil -a -I command. In this
situation, you must reboot your HP-UX host and then add the target IP and discover the LUNs.
- The HP-UX iSCSI initiator does not log off completely even after deleting the target IP using
iscsiutil -d -I command. The LUNs remain visible on the HP-UX host. If this occurs,
restart the system.
