The IBMEnterprise Storage Server provides
functions that are compatible with the system.
Complete the following steps to configure the IBM
Enterprise Storage Server:
- Enter the IP address of the IBM Enterprise Storage
Server in a web browser to access the Enterprise Storage Server Specialist.
- Log in with your user name and password.
- Click ESS Specialist.
- Click Storage Allocation.
- Click Open System Storage.
- Click Modify Host Systems.
- Create a host entry for each initiator port on each the system node in your clustered system. Complete the
following fields:
- Enter a unique name for each port in the Nickname field.
For example, enter knode or
lnode.
- Select IBM SAN Volume Controller in the Host
Type field.
If this option is not available, select RS/6000.
- Select Fibre Channel attached in the Host
Attachment field.
- Leave the Hostname/IP address field blank.
- Select the WWPN from the list or enter it manually into the WWPN
field.
A configuration command fails if you use WWPN 0 in the command string.
- Click Perform Configuration Update after you are finished adding all
of the ports.
- Click Add Volumes to add the volumes that you want the system to
use.
The Add Volumes pane is displayed.
- Complete the following steps in the Add Volumes pane:
- Select any of the system host ports that you created earlier.
- Select the necessary Enterprise Storage Server adapter to create the volumes.
- Click Next.
- Create volumes that use your wanted size, placement, and RAID level.
- Click Perform Configuration Update after you create all the
volumes.
- Complete the following steps to map the volumes to all of your system ports:
- Click Modify Volume Assignments.
- Select all of the volumes that you created earlier.
- Click Assigning selected volumes to target hosts.
- Select all of the remaining system host ports that you created earlier.
- Click Perform Configuration Update.
Important: If you are adding system ports to a volume that is already assigned to
other system ports, you must select the Use same ID/LUN in source and
target check box.
