The command fails because it cannot create a distributed array with drives that have a capacity exceeding the limit for the RAID level. For example, you cannot create a RAID5 array if the drive capacity is greater than or equal to 8 TB.
Change the RAID level or use drives with a capacity less than the limit for the RAID level, such as 8 TB for RAID5.
