The HP P2000 G3 system has a maximum LUN size of 60 TB.
A volume is referenced by the volume name.
HP P2000 G3 can export 512 LUNs to the system (limit). The system supports greater than 2 TB LUNs.
The HP P2000 G3 array or volume can be partitioned as volumes. A one-to-one disk-to-volume size is normally used for presentation to the system.
The HP P2000 G3 systems identify exported logical units through SCSI identification descriptor type 3. The 64-bit NAA IEEE Registered Extended Identifier (NAA=6) for the logical unit is in the form 6-OUI-VSID. The HP P2000 G3 IEEE company ID is 00C0FF (Dot Hill). The remaining part of the company ID is a vendor-specific ID.
Example of HP P2000 G3 svc mdisk output:

Settings are in general default unless specified.
To create HP P2000 G3 Vdisks, select requirements as appropriate. In the GUI, select . For example, if you create 4 + P RAID-5 arrays with a spare and 1:1 mapping to volumes, the system data is stripped across all the LUNs in the controller storage pool. For performance and robustness, much larger disk-member arrays (Vdisks) are not recommended.
The HP P2000 G3 LUNS are default volume-mapped to all ports on the controller. This mapping is useful if the controller is separately zoned only to the system nodes. Otherwise time consuming, individual mapping of each system port is required. The LUNS cannot be shared. Access must be limited to the system ports only.
To detect a controller, it might be necessary to run the svctask detectmdisk and svcinfo lsdiscoverystatus commands.
Select the standard host profile and FC host type. Disk spin-down is not supported as unresponsive disks can result in taking storage pools offline.
LUNs are exported through the available FC ports of the HP P2000 G3 storage system. Configure these LUNs as default mapping or explicit.
There are no special considerations for logical unit numbering. LUN 0 can be exported where necessary.
A HP P2000 G3 storage system has a total of four 8 GB Fibre Channel ports.

All systems are Active/Active. To avoid an outage from system failure, cross connect the ports across Fibre Channel switches. Because all model HP P2000 G3 storage systems are equal in priority, there is no benefit to using an exclusive set for a specific LU.
There are no preferred access ports on the model HP P2000 G3 as all ports are Active/Active across all systems.
Detecting ownership does not apply to model HP P2000 G3.
