To reseat a node canister, use this procedure.
If a node canister has been powered off, it must be powered
on according to this procedure.
If a node canister
is powered on, only carry out this procedure if instructed by another
service procedure to do so.
Refer to Procedure: Understanding the system status using the LEDs to
understand whether a node canister is powered off.
Only if it is appropriate to do so, reseat a canister
by completing the following steps.
- On the node canister, unlatch the release
levers and pull them open.
Take care not to inadvertently
disturb or remove any cables connected to the system.
The
canister moves out of the slot approximately 0.6 cm (0.25 inch).
- Refer to Procedure: Understanding the system status using the LEDs to confirm that the canister is
not powered.
- Wait 10 seconds.
- With the release levers still open, gently push the canister
back into the enclosure until it stops.
The canister will
be approximately 0.6 cm (0.25 inch) short of being fully inserted.
- Close both the release levers together so
that the canister is pulled fully into its slot.
The
node starts.
- Push the orange end of each release lever to latch the
lever in the closed position.
- Use the management GUI to check the status of the node
and check system events.
