Connecting SAS cables to a SAS 4-port interface adapter

All Lenovo Storage V series systems can support a 4-port 12 Gbps SAS host interface adapter to enable SAS host attachment.

To enable SAS attachments to hosts, Lenovo Storage V3700 V2 and Lenovo Storage V5030 systems require the installation of the 4-port 12 Gbps SAS host interface adapter. This host interface adapter is an available option for each system.

Figure 1 shows the optional 12 Gbps SAS host interface adapter installed on a Lenovo Storage V3700 V2 system.

Figure 2 shows the location of the ports on the 12 Gbps SAS host interface adapter that is installed on a Lenovo Storage V5030 system.

Lenovo Storage V3700 V2 XP systems also support SAS host attachments using the optional 4-port 12 Gbps SAS host interface adapter. In addition, Lenovo Storage V3700 V2 XP systems have two onboard 12 Gbps SAS ports that can be used for host attachments. Figure 3 shows the location of the ports that can be use to provide SAS host attachments on a Lenovo Storage V3700 V2 XP system. The diagram shows the location of the 2 onboard 12 Gbps SAS ports and the installation of the optional 12 Gbps SAS host interface adapter.
