Software update test utility and software package

Each software update requires that you run the software update test utility and then download the correct software package. Specific steps for these two processes are described in the topics that follow.

Software update test utility

The software update test utility indicates whether your current system has issues that need to be resolved before you update to the next level. The test utility is run as part of the system update process for software or drive firmware.

After you download the utility, you have the following options:

If you are using the management GUI, select Settings > System > Update system and click Update to run the test utility. Complete directions are included in Updating the system automatically.
If you are using the command-line interface (CLI), directions are included in Updating the software automatically using the CLI.
