The USB flash drive is
normally used to initialize the configuration after installing a new
system. In the case of Lenovo Storage V7000 Gen2, the USB flash drive is not required to
initialize the configuration; however, it can be used for other functions.
Using the
USB flash drive is required in the following situations:
- When you cannot
connect to a node canister in a control enclosure using the service
assistant and you want to see the status of the node.
- When you do not know, or cannot use, the service IP address for the node canister
in the control enclosure and must set the address.
- When you have forgotten the superuser password and must reset
the password.
