Multipathing configuration maximums for hosts that run VMware operating systems

When you configure, keep in mind the maximum configuration for the VMware multipathing software.

Table 1 provides the maximum SCSI devices and paths per volume.

Object VMware maximum Description
SCSI devices 256 The maximum number of SCSI devices that are supported by the VMware software. Each path to a volume equates to a single SCSI device
Paths per volume 41 The maximum number of paths to each volume.
1 To get the highest number of both paths and LUNs, 4 paths is a recommended limit.
