Enabling IPv6

You can enable IPv6 support on a host in VMware 4.0 or later.

Complete the following steps to enable IPv6 support in VMware 4.0 or later:
  1. From the vSphere Client screen, select the Configuration tab.
  2. Click Networking.
  3. Click Properties.
  4. Click Enable IPv6 support on this host, and then click OK.
    IPv6 support is enabled when you restart VMware.
  5. Optional: To complete IPv6 discovery and login functions, open the vSphere Client.
  6. Select the Configuration tab.
  7. Click Networking, and then click the vSwitch.
  8. Click Properties.
  9. Click Service Console and click Edit.
  10. Click the IP Settings tab.
  11. Enter your IP values, and then click OK.
