Removing MDisks on a system by using the CLI

You can use the command-line interface (CLI) to remove MDisks from a clustered system.

When you remove MDisks from a system, the managed disks (MDisks) that represent the system might still exist. The system cannot access these MDisks because they were unconfigured or removed. You must remove the MDisks.

To remove MDisks, perform these steps:

  1. Run the includemdisk CLI command on all the affected MDisks.
  2. Run the rmmdisk CLI command on all affected MDisks. This command puts the MDisks into the unmanaged mode.
  3. Run the detectmdisk CLI command. The system detects that the MDisks no longer exist.

All of the MDisks that represent an unconfigured system are removed.
