Removing MDisks that represent unconfigured LUs by using the CLI

You can use the command-line interface (CLI) to remove MDisks from the clustered system (system).

When you remove LUs from your storage system, the managed disks (MDisks) that represent those LUs might still exist in the system. However, the system cannot access these MDisks because the LUs that these MDisks represent were unconfigured or removed from the storage system. You must remove these MDisks.

To remove MDisks, complete the following steps:

  1. Run the rmmdisk CLI command on all affected MDisks.
This command puts the MDisks into the unmanaged mode.
  2. Run the includemdisk CLI command on all the affected MDisks.
  3. Run the detectmdisk CLI command.
The system detects that the MDisks no longer exist in the storage system.

All of the MDisks that represent unconfigured LUs are removed from the system.
