Adding an expansion enclosure to a system

You can install expansion enclosures to an operational Lenovo Storage V series system.

The expansion enclosures package includes the following items:

• Either a 24 drive slot or 12 drive slot enclosure, depending on the model purchased.
• A rack installation kit
• Two power cords that can be used to connect to a rack power distribution unit

Options that you may have purchased for the expansion enclosure are:

• Drives. A range of 2.5-inch small form factor drives and 3.5-inch large form factor drives are available.
• Power cords suitable for connection to wall sockets at your location.

If possible, install the expansion enclosure in the same rack as the other enclosures in a system and next to other enclosures.

Your system can be left operational while the expansion enclosure is installed and connected.
