Known IBM® i issues and limitations

There are known issues and limitations when you connect the system to an IBM® i host.

Consider the following items when you attach to a host that runs the IBM® i operating system:
  • The IBM® i host is not able to access read-only secondary (target) volumes that are in a remote copy relationship.
  • A maximum of 16 disk virtual LUNs and 16 optical virtual LUNs is supported for each IBM® i virtual I/O client SCSI adapter.
  • IBM® i multipathing for virtual SCSI disks requires IBM i 6.1.1 or later.
  • The IBM HyperSwap® function is supported for IBM® i full-system replication only.
  • Thin-provisioned volumes are supported for IBM® i.
